A SHOPPER recalled the unexpected moment she found a luxury watch down the side of a couch bought at a thrift store.
She was stunned after being told the vintage timepiece was valued at over $250,000.
The watch was a Rolex Daytona – a model made famous by the actor Paul Newman, per the Robb Report.
Her dad denied ever owning a Rolex, leaving her wondering who the original owner was.
"Of course, that's not mine," he said when she quizzed him.
"You know I can't afford a Rolex."
It emerged that the couch was bought for $25 – four years before the watch was found.
She called the thrift store to see if anyone had reported a missing watch.
But workers at the shop were none the wiser.
She then turned to the retailer Bob's Watches – a reseller that was founded in 1999.
Experts jetted out to Canada to inspect the watch as she didn't want to mail, nor fork out on a flight to California.
She cashed in the Rolex and revealed she would use the money to buy a home and have a boob job.

It is among the highest amounts paid for a watch at auction.
The watch, which was given to Newman as a gift by his wife Joanne Woodward, was sold after 12 minutes of bidding.
And the timepiece was considered the Holy Grail by collectors and industry experts.
"Many people are saying this is the greatest watch on the planet," vintage Rolex collector Geoff Hess told Forbes.
The U.S. Sun reported how an Air Force veteran, known only as Dave, was also left stunned when he was told his Rolex Oyster Chronograph watch was valued between $500,000 and $700,000.
He took the item onto the popular TV show Antiques Roadshow and revealed he had kept the watch scratch-free for decades.
And Dave also had the original receipt when he purchased it.
Thrift store fanatics have also recalled the moment they came across unexpected finds.
One shopper claimed she found a Tag Heuer watch in a box she only paid one dollar for.
Another claimed they picked up a watch for $8 before restoring it to a pristine condition.
