The 2026 WNBA Finals schedule has had all three home Atlanta games deeply affected due to scheduling conflicts at the State Farm Arena, the city's premier basketball arena.

While all involved parties, including the WNBA, Atlanta Hawks, NBA, and the teams, managed to come up with a solution to ensure the game got the grand arena it deserved, the confusion around the last-minute schedule changes has greatly soured the mood of these Finals.

The Dream's lengthy letter to the fans shifts blame for the arena issues to the WNBA, claiming that they raised their scheduling concerns with the league for the last two months while the WNBA waited till the last moment to adjust the schedules.

This letter was clearly to deflect some of the fire that the Dream have received over the last few days over their arena issues, with fans still debating who is to blame.

"But everyone wanted to dogpile on the FO and the owners the whole time it was the WNBA itself," said one fan supporting the Dream .

"You and the Dream organisation had all this time to find another venue. Can't blame just the WNBA for your poor ownership," said one fan continuing to blame the Dream .

"You can't make this stuff up," said a shocked Bill Simmons after the Dream's letter was shared .

"This is exactly why Cathy needs to go," said another fan .

"Is this dead—? They don't own their arena, admitted they knew about the conflict for 2 MONTHS, yet they're still blaming the WNBA… So why wasn't this resolved with the Hawks sooner?! The lack of accountability really does come from the top…" said a fan .

Regardless of who is to blame, this has been very embarrassing for the WNBA as well as the Dream. The WNBA Finals should not take place under such circumstances, but a variety of factors have caused this situation.

Now, we might see the season end in the middle of the day, as Game 6 will be played at 12:30 p.m. on October 29.
