THE Philadelphia 76ers' Playoff loss to the New York Knicks has caused uproar among fans.
The 76ers fell 104-101 at Madison Square Garden to go 0-2 in the First Round on Monday.
But the loss came in controversial fashion, with both 76ers fans and head coach Nick Nurse left furious in response.
With just over 27 seconds to go, Jalen Brunson's three-pointer narrowed the Knicks' deficit to 101-99.
The first controversial moment came when 76ers star Tyrese Maxey received the ball after Brunson's score, with the latter appearing to pull on his jersey.
Shortly after gaining control of the ball, Maxey hit the deck with around 23 seconds remaining.
Nurse appeared to call for a timeout immediately afterward, which went unnoticed by the officials.
After attempting to hand it off to Kyle Lowry, Knicks star Josh Hart took hold of the ball eventually leading to Donte DiVincenzo's go-ahead three-pointer to seal the win.
Fans immediately flocked to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share in their outrage at the closing stages of the game.
"Probably the most rigged NBA game I've ever seen. Knicks in MSG is a joke," tweeted one fan.
"Is there any reason to keep watching professional sports at this point? They are obviously rigged," claimed a second.
"Don't want to admit Maxey was held by Brunson on the inbounds pass? Cool," said a third.

By comparison, others noted that Maxey appeared to have pushed Hart before he received the ball back after the fist three-pointer.
After the game, a fuming Nurse told reporters he felt officials had ignored his calls for a timeout after the first three-pointer.

"I called timeout. The referee looked right at me, [and] ignored me," he said.
"Went into Tyrese. I called timeout again. Then the melee started and I mean I guess I got to run out on the floor or do something to get his attention.
"I needed a timeout there to advance it. Would have been good, but couldn't get it."
Nurse later added that he'd rewatched the footage, saying, "I could see me clearly calling timeout twice."
The series now moves to Philadelphia, where the 76ers will look to claw their way back into the mix on Thursday and Sunday.
