Amon-Ra St. Brown signs bumper NFL contract extension to overtake Tyreek Hill and Cooper Kupp as highest-paid wideout | Q738J8X | 2024-04-26 02:08:01
DETROIT Lions wide receiver Amon-Ra St.Brown has become the highest-paid wideout in the NFL.
The 24-year-old penned a four-year extension with the NFL franchise on Wednesday.

St.Brown put up career numbers in 2023 as the Lions reached the NFC Championship Game.
In his three seasons in Detroit, the talented former fourth-round pick has improved his receiving numbers year-on-year.
The wideout's bumper new contract will guarantee him $77 million between now and 2028.
It makes St. Brown the highest-earning wideout in the league, per the NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
St. Brown's deal puts him above Cooper Kupp, with the Los Angeles Rams star earning $75 million over the same period.
He also eclipses the $72.2 million deal signed by the Miami Dolphins speedster Tyreek Hill in March 2022.
In total, St. Brown's bumper payday could see him earn $120 million over the next four years.
"Can't think of a better/more deserving player," wrote one fan on X.
"Lions looking like they can make another playoff run.," said another.
"Highest paid WR in the NFL is nuts," gasped another.
<!-- End of Brightcove Player --> "Strange to do this for a guy picked in the 4th round. I'd save that kind of money for a WR with 1st round draft capital," argued a fourth.
St. Brown has emerged as one of the league's most exciting receivers over the past two seasons.
He racked up 1,515 yards and 10 touchdowns in 16 starts across the regular campaign last year, adding 274 yards in the postseason.
The former USC receiver's contract won't kick in until the 2025 season when his rookie deal expires.
St. Brown is one of just three players in NFL history with 90-plus catches in each of his first three seasons, per ESPN.

The Lions are reportedly set to be aggressive in trading up during this year's NFL Draft.
They currently have the 29th pick in this week's first-round order.
"The Lions are likely looking for an edge opposite Aidan Hutchinson, or perhaps another corner," according to Sports Illustrated NFL insider Albert Breer.
Lions head coach Dan Campbell hinted earlier this week Detroit was "prepared to do anything" to land their targets.
"Anything can happen," Campbell said.
"We're prepared to do anything and if our guy's not there, if we're sitting there and our guy's not there, we will move back," he said.
"So I'm just preparing the fans, be ready, you never know what's gonna happen here."
