The Oasis reunion proves that British rock is in crisis

Manchester's most celebrated band – comprised of Gallagher brothers Liam and Noel – split in 2009 amid fall-outs and fights, waged a cold war in the press for 15 years, and have ostensibly put their differences aside. Despite the Ticketmaster fiasco that followed their announcement of a string of live dates for summer 2025 – and despite questions raised over the band's decision to apparently allow such a shambles – those nights will be treasured by the thousands flocking to Heaton Park, Wembley, and elsewhere.
